– We have been working hard to achieve the short delivery date, and we managed it, says Helge Warholm, project manager for the project.
– Evotec has been in close cooperation with the owner, for design and integration onboard the vessel. Not only for the LARS-units, but also the surrounding infrastructure, like electrical switchboards as well as electric calculations, structural calculations and similar tasks needed for such an installation. The cooperation with REM Offshore has been outstanding, and we look forward to the continuation of the project that will take place in USA in January next year, says Warholm.
– With this delivery we are providing our unique solution for regenerating electric energy. This means that when the winch is deploying or working in active heave compensation mode, the winch will work as a generator, and create electric power. This power will be cleaned through a filtering process and fed back to other consumers onboard the vessel. In other words, this solution is much better for the environment in terms of fuel consumption, and the «carbon-footprint» is much less than on other systems. With this system we save the environment, and the operator saves money, as simple as it sounds!
– We would like to express our thanks to the shipowner REM Offshore, and we look forward to finishing the installation onboard, as well as to future projects, says Torkjell Ringstad, VP Sales and Marketing, Evotec AS.
